The popular PoP Club (see details below) is back for its 4th season to introduce kids to eating seasonally and the magic of produce. The Power of Produce (PoP) Program distributes $2 in market currency to youth (kids 1 – 15 years old) that can be used for purchasing fruits and vegetables at the farmers market. The program is designed to encourage healthy eating and also teach kids the value of a transaction - which directly benefits our farmers and local economy. In addition to children receiving $2 in PoP Bucks every market they have the opportunity to play an educational game, participate in a learning activity, and explore fun facts about the produce found at the market. In the words on one PoP participant, “My favorite part of the PoP Program is everything!” Photo courtesy of Shoreline Farmers Market website
